I was just this morning, on my way out to a measuring of the grade, ruminating on how I had not seen any scorpions. Apparently, I had merely not set up conditions favoring the sighting of one. This one
was hiding under the edge of a moisture barrier (aluminized mylar/space blanket over a folded towel).
