Today’s Forays in Personal Maintenance and Management – 2018-9-16

In the movie Jupiter Ascending, which I thoroughly enjoyed, though many critics panned it, there is a scene of intense conflict, in the climax, between the eponymous Jupiter and the main bad guy, whose name I do not remember, and will not seek on duckduckgo nor on IMBD; may his name lapse in obscurity.

Bad Guy: My mother never cleaned a toilet in her life.

Jupiter: Maybe that‘s what was wrong with her.

Why do I share this snippet? As you, dear reader, might guess, I am celebrating an advance against the filth I inherited from previous tenants, to which I’ve added during the year I’ve resided here. While I have been using the long-handled scrubber to eliminate the occasional Klingon from Uranus, and I have eroded biofilm down to the original substrate in some places that have accumulated for Gouda knows how long, I have now also removed the stains of precipitates from the water, mostly rust, I think.

In this photoThe result of my spur-of-the-moment work., the traces of those stains, from erosion of the porcelain enamel, so that the darker iron or steel slightly shows through, might not be discernible*. I might be able to adjust contrast, or something, but I’ll only do that on request, followed by … speculations as to motive. 😉

*I can see them.
